Book Of Boba Fett Isn’t As Popular Post-Release As The Mandalorian

New data reveals the post-premiere demand for Disney+’s The Book of Boba Fett isn’t as strong as it was for The Mandalorian back in 2019.

Even now that The Book of Boba Fett has gotten under way, it isn’t as popular as fellow Star Wars show The Mandalorian. Much like Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm is hard at work on developing numerous streaming shows set within the galaxy far, far away. The first to debut on Disney+, The Mandalorian, became a bona fide hit when it premiered in 2019, and season 2 in 2020 only increased interest in the adventures of lone bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal). The development of shows like Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka has been seemingly fueled by The Mandalorian‘s success.

A spin-off of The MandalorianThe Book of Boba Fett is only the second live-action Star Wars show to release on Disney+. It’s one audiences have been waiting a long time for as well, as it focuses on fan favorite original trilogy character Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison). The Mandalorian season 2 concluded with Fett and sharpshooter Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) returning to Tatooine and taking over Jabba the Hutt’s criminal empire. Now, The Book of Boba Fett follows their efforts to maintain their stake on Tatooine’s underbelly.

Boba Fett’s book premiered just two weeks ago, which means it’s just getting started on its 7-episode series. However, new data reveals that it has yet to reach the same audience as The Mandalorian. According to Initiated, Parrot Analytics data confirms that Boba Fett did not increase his demand after the premiere as much as The Mandalorian do. During their first 11 days of availability, the request for The Mandalorian was 75.5% higher than Book by Boba Fett in the USA. Meanwhile, the demand for The Mandalorian was 101% higher globally.

In addition, it is said The Mandalorian was the most requested show in the US and around the world when it premiered, while Boba Fett’s book is located respectively at the 12th and 18th. Now, Boba Fett’s book still has several weeks to unfold its story, so it may increase its popularity over time. In addition, these data do not offer a complete overview of audience figures for either program; we do not know how many subscribers have connected. Boba Fett’s book Still seems to work well for Disney +, as its premiere happened before the MCU offer Hawk Eye.

There are a few probable reasons why Boba Fett’s book lags behind its predecessor. At the time of The Mandaloriandebut, it was the only live-action Star wars show available on Disney +, and has therefore generated a lot of interest. Plus, its premiere featured a revolutionary twist in the form of the Baby Yoda reveal. Although director Robert Rodriguez has hinted Boba Fett’s bookThe first episode of would also have a twist, nothing of that caliber has taken place. Instead of, Boba Fett’s book favors a slow combustion approach. That’s not a bad thing, but with fans more used to storytelling faster these days, it could reduce the number of those watching each week. We will have a better idea of Boba Fettsuccess once the show is over, but it’s an interesting place for it to be right now.
